Important high school and college benefts

While the primary benefit of BCHSJS is to help you explore your Jewish identity and make lasting Jewish friendships, there are numerous others:

  • College Credits: BCHSJS participates in the Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Middle College Program which allows juniors and seniors to earn up to six college credits while taking classes at BCHSJS. Biblical Figures in the Analyst’s Chair is being offered during the 2016-17 academic year.

  • Community Service: BCHSJS offers numerous opportunities for you to engage in community service activities and fulfill high school requirements, and to give back to the community.

  • Leadership Training: If you are a high school sophomores or junior you can apply to participate in the Jewish Federation of New Jersey’s Young Leadership Program taught by BCHSJS. This program builds skills and enables 10th and 11th graders to connect with a peer group of Jewish teens in Israel and meet prominent American and Israeli leaders. A number of students who complete the program will be selected for a trip to Israel partially subsidized by the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey [link to Federation site].

  • Recommendations and References: The BCHSJS principal will write college recommendations and send transcripts to academic institutions for you upon request.

BCHSJS SUNDAY MORNINGS

We know how tempting it is to sleep in on the weekend, but we have thousands of students and graduates who say there’s no place they’d rather be on a Sunday morning than at BCHSJS. We meet on Sundays from 9:30am to 12:45pm, which doesn’t interfere with most extracurricular activities or jobs and leaves the afternoon free. We have a great location, the Moriah School in Englewood, New Jersey, which is protected with a security guard at the entranceway to ensure safety.
