While the primary benefit of BCHSJS is helping teens discover their Jewish identity and make lasting Jewish friendships, there are numerous others:
- College Credits: BCHSJS participates in the Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Middle College Program which allows juniors and seniors to earn up to six college credits while taking classes at BCHSJS. Biblical Figures in the Analyst’s Chair is being offered during the 2016-17 academic year.
- Community Service: BCHSJS offers numerous opportunities for students to engage in community service activities and fulfill high school requirements, and to give back to the community.
- Leadership Training: Jewish high school sophomores and juniors can apply to participate in the Jewish Federation of New Jersey’s Young Leadership Program taught by BCHSJS. This program builds skills and enables 10th and 11th graders to connect with a peer group of Jewish teens in Israel and meet prominent American and Israeli leaders. A number of students who complete the program will be selected for a trip to Israel partially subsidized by the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey (link
- Recommendations and References: The BCHSJS principal will write college recommendations and send transcripts to academic institutions upon request.
