BCHSJS is a safe, tight-knit community where they can be themselves, meet other Jewish teens, and talk about their experiences with other teens who are also in public school settings. Our school attracts Jewish teenagers from throughout the region, giving them the chance to make friendships with others they likely wouldn’t meet. Our alumni tell us that when a fellow BCHSJS student is at the same college or university, even if they hadn’t been close friends, a strong bond exists between them.
Our philosophy is that Jewish education means learning and doing, which is what takes place within our walls every Sunday morning and outside through our social activities and community service events. BCHSJS gives students a sense of pride and confidence in being Jewish, along with tools to be advocates for Judaism in their community and in the world.
