SUPPORT US

PLEASE SUPPORT BCHSJS

The primary mission of BCHSJS is to advance Jewish continuity, but we cannot do that without support from religious and community leaders, Jewish organizations like the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, local businesses, parents, alumni and anyone interested in fostering the next generation of Jewish adults.

Tuition covers just a portion of the cost to sustain BCHSJS. Through your generosity, BCHSJS can  continue to instill our Jewish teens with a love of Judaism and a strong sense of their own Jewish  identity.

Contributions to BCHSJS (an IRS 501(c)3 organization) are tax deductible in the U.S.

FUNDRAISING GALA

Each Spring, BCHSJS holds its biggest fundraising event of the year, the Annual Gala. This special event is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate all that makes our school unique. At the Gala, BCHSJS recognizes outstanding community leaders, parents and an educator for their contributions to the School, Jewish education in general and the Jewish community at large. We also pay tribute and salute our graduating students.

Last year, BCHSJS established the “L’Dor V’Dor” Award, created to recognize those who further Jewish continuity by actively supporting programs for Jewish teens. The award was presented to our first recipients at the Gala last year, Dr. Deane and Susan Penn. The Penn’s also lead by example with their philanthropy and involvement in Bergen County/Northern NJ Jewish community life.

Hanna Wechsler, a brilliant educator and Holocaust survivor who authored a book about her experience, In Spite of It All, was recognized as the 2016 Educator of the Year. Ms. Wechsler taught at Congregation B’nai Israel in Emerson, lectured at universities, and currently volunteers as an educator for the Rockland County Holocaust Center.

BCHSJS also recognized two Parent Honorees in 2016, Robin and Michael Baer and Julia and Roman Kosiborod, for their commitment to their children’s Jewish education.

Your support, via Gala attendance and ads in our green/virtual ad journal, will help secure the future of the school and enable us to continue to offer engaging educational and social experiences to our teens.
