Dr. Mark Silk joined BCHSJS this year. He received a B.A from Columbia University in Music while simultaneously receiving a BHL in Jewish History from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He received an MA in Contemporary Jewish Studies from Brandeis University and an Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction from SUNY Albany. He has presented workshops at regional and national conferences on mentoring, professional development and organizational change. He was principal of SSDS of Essex and Union (now Golda Och Academy) as well as of The Reuben Gittelman Hebrew Day School. He served as the Director of Professional and Leadership Development for the JEA of MetroWest and was the Director of the Jewish New Teacher Project. Presently he is teaching in the Educational Leadership doctoral program at Saint Peter’s University. Mark has three married daughters.
